OPEN CALL: Magic Carpets Residency in Wrocław 2026

The Wrocław Institute of Culture invites photographers and interdisciplinary artists to apply for the Magic Carpets international residency in Wrocław. This four-week research-based residency (September/October 2026) focuses on collaborative artistic practices developed in dialogue with the local Korean community.

Artists are encouraged to work in urban spaces significant to the Korean minority—both in the city and its suburbs—exploring themes of migration, visibility, minority presence, and memory of place. The residency offers time and support to collect stories, experiences, and narratives, and to co-create a new artwork together with community members.

The program culminates in a public presentation developed in collaboration with the curator and participants. We are looking for an artist working with photography and open to social engagement, relationship-building, and interdisciplinary approaches.

Conditions:
Duration: 4 weeks (September/October 2026)
Artist fee: €1,200
Production budget: up to €1,000
Travel budget: up to €1,000
Accommodation provided
Advanced English required

Apply by sending your CV, portfolio, and cover letter (including your residency idea and any experience related to Korean culture) to: airwro@instytutkultury.pl
