Studio Montclair is pleased to announce an Open Call for an exhibition commemorating Black History and Women’s History Months: Freedom.

From Romare Bearden to Emory Douglas, from Faith Ringgold to Kathe Kollwitz, artists have been at the forefront in the fight for freedom, whether it be creative, political, or spiritual. In honor of Black History and Women’s History Month, Studio Montclair invites creatives to submit works that explore how art inspires resistance, challenges boundaries, and catalyzes change.

Artists are invited to respond to these concepts in styles ranging from bold abstraction to intimate figuration, and in mediums spanning painting, sculpture, photography, textiles, and mixed media. Your responses should be as varied as the stories they reflect.
