About Graphic Drift
A two weeks immersive printmaking program that brings together studio based creation and a curated exploration of the city of Buenos Aires and its vibrant printmaking art scene. Artists will develop their own work while drifting through the city workshops, galleries and independent spaces, tracing lines between printmaking and place.
Created in collaboration with the Southern Graphics Council International (SGCI), and in celebration of Proyecto´ace’s 20th anniversary, this program is both a space for personal artistic development and a collective journey through the diverse and layered graphic landscape of the city. The residency culminates with a group exhibition of the works produced and a parallel showcase of the portfolio [Im]Possible Parallels, linking the individual and the continental, the intimate and the cartographic.
Why Join
Both emerging and professional printmakers joining this program will transform their practice into a journey—exploring new places, discovering new techniques, making friends, expanding professional networks, all while sparking fresh ideas, culminating in a group exhibition that connects participants to the city and beyond. Graphic Drift is more than a residency—it’s a living map where art redraws the city.
What is offered
Set in the dynamic cultural ecosystem of Buenos Aires and rooted in Proyecto´ace long standing commitment to collaborative work, this experience offers perspective that challenge conventional models of production and mobility while exploring the role of printmaking as a relational, porous and resilient practice. It is an invitation to redraw maps, both artistic and personal, throughout shared processes and new forms of connection. In this spirit, the program is both a space for personal artistic development and a collective journey through the diverse and layered graphic landscape of the city. The residency culminates with a group exhibition of the works produced together with a showcase of the portfolio [Im]Possible Parallels, linking the individual and the continental, the intimate and the cartographic.
Workshop Leader: Alicia Candiani
Alicia Candiani is an Argentine artist and cultural leader whose work in expanded printmaking, digital media, and collaborative practices has been internationally exhibited and awarded. She is the founder and director of Proyecto´ace, an influential 20 years old artist-in-residence program in Buenos Aires focused on contemporary print media, expanded printmaking practices and visual culture. A longtime member of SGC International, Candiani has served on its Board of Directors and chaired the International Panel on many occasions. In 2016, she received the Member of the Council Award in recognition of her outstanding contributions to both the council and the field.
