About KÜSSE Berlin
KÜSSE Berlin is a newly founded concept space based in Kreuzberg, Berlin and rooted in Kathmandu, Nepal. Our mission is to foster dialogue between art, design, fashion, and publishing. KÜSSE brings together an art gallery, a curated selection of vintage and archive clothing, a collection of artist books and zines, and a program of cultural events. We are committed to cultivating a warm, interdisciplinary and inclusive environment for emerging artists and creatives.
About the Open Call
As part of our program for Berlin Art Week (September 10-14, 2025), we’re launching an open call for already produced, small-format zines to be featured and sold in our gallery. We’re looking for poetic, photographic, experimental, or critical/theory/essay work, whether visual, textual, or graphic, that reflects contemporary artistic practices and resonates with KÜSSE Berlin’s values. This is not a publishing prize or print production call: we are curating a selection of zines that are already made and ready to sell and easy to ship (A4 or smaller preferred).

Eligibility
> Submissions are open to both individual artists and collectives.
> Artists must be able to ship their zines to Germany.
> The zine must be ready to send upon selection (2-3 examples)
> Print-on-demand and digital-only projects are not eligible.
> Zines in all languages are welcome.
Submission Guidelines
1. Please submit the following via email to kusse.berlin@gmail.com with subject line:
“Zine Open Call - your name”
2. A short project description
(max 300 words)
3. 4 to 6 preview images of the zine
(PDF or JPG)
4. Short artist bio or collective presentation (max 200 words)
5. Retail price + number of available copies
6. Shipping city (to evaluate feasibility and timeline)
Selected zines will be featured in KÜSSE’s September display during Berlin Art Week, alongside our curated fashion, books, and artworks. Selected zines will be available for sale at KÜSSE during Berlin Art Week, offering artists both visibility and the opportunity to connect with a new audience. Sales will be handled by our team under standard gallery conditions, and we will follow up with selected participants to arrange the details.
