Unquiet Things

The Mill Gallery invites artists to submit work for Unquiet Things, a group exhibition conjuring the strange, spectral, and unsettling in contemporary art.

Timed for October, this exhibition explores what lies just beyond the edge of understanding: hauntings, dream logic, uneasy beauty, strange rituals, and the quiet dread of things not quite named. Whether eerie, surreal, symbolic, or ghostly, we’re looking for artworks that evoke that shiver beneath the skin.

We invite submissions in painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, mixed media, textiles, and more. Interpret the theme as broadly or intimately as you wish—macabre or minimal, folkloric or futuristic, haunted or haunting.

At The Mill Gallery, we always aim to showcase as many artists as possible whose work aligns with the curation. With space for 40 artworks in the gallery, we strive to create a diverse and atmospheric exhibition that offers something for everyone.

Submission Details:

Entry fee: £25 (for up to 5 artworks)

Selected works will be curated by The Mill Gallery Curators

All works must be for sale, with prices set by the artist

Exhibition dates: 24th October – 7th November 2025

Opening Night: Friday 24th October from 6:30pm

If selected, all artwork deliveries must be arranged with the gallery via appointment on Wednesday 22nd October.
