Whispers & Wonders: Art Inspired by Folklore
The Mill Gallery invites artists to submit work for Whispers & Wonders: Art Inspired by Folklore, a mixed media group exhibition celebrating the enduring power of folklore, mythology, and storytelling through contemporary art.
From ancient legends to local superstitions, ancestral rituals to modern mythmaking, we welcome submissions that explore how folklore shapes our identities, imaginations, and cultures. Whether through symbolism, narrative, or abstraction, we’re seeking works that bring these tales—known or obscure—into dialogue with today’s world.
We invite artists working in painting, sculpture, photography, printmaking, mixed media, and more to submit original artworks ready for sale. All styles and approaches are welcome. We are especially interested in work that reinterprets tradition, explores personal or cultural heritage, or uncovers hidden narratives.
At The Mill Gallery, we always aim to showcase as many artists as possible whose work aligns with the curation. With space for up to 40 artworks in the gallery, we strive to create a diverse and exciting exhibition that offers something for everyone.
Submission Details:
Entry fee: £25 (for up to 5 artworks)
Selected works will be curated by The Mill Gallery Curators
All works must be for sale, with prices set by the artist
Exhibition dates: 3rd October - 17th October 2025
Opening Night: Friday 3rd October from 6:30pm
If selected, all artwork deliveries must be arranged with the gallery via appointment on Wednesday 1st October.
