Vermont Studio Center (VSC) welcomes visual artists and writers for 2-, 3- and 4-week residencies to an inclusive, international community, honoring creative work as the communication of spirit through form. Nestled in the Green Mountain of Vermont, VSC provides private lodging, studios, fresh daily meals, and a vibrant visiting artists and writers program.

Each residency welcomes 30 artists and writers to our Johnson, Vermont campus. All residents receive partial fellowships while 35% receive full fellowships.

The Vermont Studio Center began in 1984 and is the largest international residency program in the U.S., hosting more than 500 artists and writers annually in scenic Johnson, Vermont.

More than a dozen countries are represented annually at Vermont Studio Center, making VSC a creative community that truly spans the globe.
