The Belluard Bollwerk International association is looking for a new director (100%) for
the 2025–2027 Festival editions.

The Belluard Bollwerk is a festival for contemporary performing arts founded in Fribourg (Switzerland). For over 40 years, it has been presenting strong artistic projects from a wide range of disciplines – performance, dance, theatre, installation, music, video and literature - over a ten-day period in early summer. Offering ambitious and demanding content in a welcoming and convivial setting, the Festival is a place of creation and hosting, with a committed and daring programme that brings together established and emerging artists from the local, Swiss and international scenes. It takes place on an open-air stage in a medieval fortress and other various venues around the town.

Description of the position:
• artistic programming
• responsibility of finances and fundraising
• overall responsibility for technical and logistical organisation, as well as production and communication, in collaboration with the festival team
• representation of the Festival at local, national and international levels

Required profile:
• experience of programming and directing leading cultural events
• in-depth knowledge of the contemporary art scene
• proven experience in fundraising
• dedicated interest in societal issues and international political challenges
• negotiating and social skills
• very good knowledge of French and English (good knowledge of German is an asset)

Interested candidates are invited to send their application, including the usual documentation
and a programming concept for three consecutive editions of the Festival, by email to
comité@belluard.ch. Requests for further information (Festival budget, etc.) should be sent to
the same address. The deadline for receipt of applications is 19 July 2024.
