General Information

Cow House Studios award four, ten week residencies annually. Applications are open to Irish and international artists. In collaboration with the Wexford Arts Centre, all four artists will exhibit in a group show the following Autumn. These residencies offer a valuable support structure for emerging and mid career artists, and brings critically engaging contemporary work to our rural community. 

Cow House Studios provide shared accommodation, and twenty-four hour access to the studio and facilities. The 343 m2 (3700 ft2) open plan space contains a wood shop, darkroom and computer lab. Generous individual spaces are provided, each with abundant natural light. Wexford Arts Centre will host a group exhibition for all four artists. Residency artists must commit to the full ten week programme running from September 22nd until November 30th, 2013.

Successful applicants are responsible for travel and material expenses, and asked to contribute €40 per week for maintenance and other consumables.

The 2013 Artist in Residence Programme will run from September 22nd until November 30th, 2013.

Applications are open to Irish and international visual artists working in any medium.

Include 10 - 20 jpeg images maximum of 1200 pixels on the largest side and/or up to 10 minutes of video in quicktime format of your most recent work.

Name each file with your own name in the following format… JohnSmith_01

You will receive a confirmation of receipt within three working days.

Decisions

A selection panel will review the submissions and make its decision solely on the information provided. The panel members include gallery staff, practicing artists and other arts professionals. Applicants will be notified of the results for the 2013 residency by email before April 30, 2013.
