OPEN CALL: NYC - A Month of Immersive Wellness for Radical Creatives Inclined Toward the Sacred Arts
Live, make, experiment, co-create, learn and engage with the local community of Red Hook, Brooklyn and an array of international contemporary artists at studio DE-CONSTRUKT while taking classes at ULTRACULTURAL OTHERS Urban Mystery Skool in lower Manhattan during this 1-month wellness-infused immersive artist residency. Share a spacious 2600 sq. ft. loft with beautiful skylights, photography darkroom, art library and wet sinks. Enjoy a private fully-furnished bedroom with wifi in addition to the large common studio space with skylights, a shared bathroom, and kitchen.
Select two self-study courses taught by NYC’s most progressive and radical creatives at the ULTRACULTURAL OTHERS Urban Mystery Skool, which is a quick subway commute or bike ride over the Manhattan bridge. DE-CONSTRUKT [projekts] offers an ideal sanctuary with focused quiet time, invigorating dialogue and ample work space. While you have the mystery skool courses in the heart of hip lower Manhattan where Chinatown bodega Buddhism meets handfuls of boutique, niche, gallery spaces, with all the worlds upon worlds New York City offers. A bike for your use throughout the residency period and a weekly share of farm fresh vegetables are other fixtures of this wellness-focused unique residency experience.
Residents are required to create a component of their work during the residency which engages directly with the local Red Hook community, with support Urban Mystery Skool Faculty. This engagement could also coincide with your role in the mystery skool’s New Moon Wellness Ritual DREAM BEAT.

A mystical self-study and wellness immersive for interdisciplinary creatives, post-studio artists, yung shamans, urban monks, queers, buddha bitches, punk/eco/hip hop feminists, rap ninjas and radical others. Embark on a personalized mystical course of self-study working side by side with some of New York City's most radical creatives.
ULTRACULTURAL Mystery Skool Self-Studies Include: Ayurvedic Mamma’s Nutrition is Bliss, Eco-feminist Permaculture, White Tantra for Kundalini Activation, Doula’s Apprentice, Sufi Whirling, Divination as MASTERY, Mantra Meditation for Primal Power, High Priestess Hip Hop, Pussy Whispering, Sacred T.W.E.R.K. (Thoughtful Women Everywhere Raising Kundalini), High Priestess Hip Hop, Monk MOJO 101, Anarchist Street Art & Transcendental Drum Jam. Residents also receive one professional development session and weekly readings from the ULTRACULTURAL OTHERS post-colonial/queer library + hip hop archive.
About DE-CONSTRUKT:
A project space for experimentation and creation, with an artist residency program, community darkroom and event space. We help to develop projects with local and international artists that support the cross pollination of ideas. Creatives have an opportunity to produce new works and are encouraged to form new networks. Our interest is in the process rather than final outcomes. We serve to support new ideas and new ways of expression to share with the local community of Red Hook, at large and abroad.
