“Slobodanka Stupar investihgates in her work the mystery of writing and speech (Logos). Different artistic means enable her to develop in various ways her philosophical thoughts concerning language, the birth of the alphabet, of words and concepts; but also the complicated mechanism of the human mind that conceived and transformed the World (Cosmos) into visual and acoustic symbols. She moves back and forth in time and the history of civilization in order to grasp the deeper essence of things. She plunges into a voyage of meditation and self-knowledge, carrying along with her the recipient-viewer in order that they may identify themselves with the transmitter-artist...”

Slobodanka Stupar is a visual artist who understands her work as a research. Her work is characterized by plurality of approaches and media nomadism - she makes installations, objects, drawings, paintings, photography, sound pieces, creating so a body of work in which she questions topics such as identity and its transformations, communication, Logos, culture.
She works in Belgrade, Athens and Cologne.
