My work includes performative sculpture, video art and installation. I explore these media while mixing and interlacing, creating cross-relations between them.
The most essential and central part of my work is related to sculpture as a category of action and thinking. I am interested in the relationship between the human body and tangible space, as well as visible surfaces, and also its relationship with other tangible and visible objects - in other words, the relationship of sight, thought and action. While making art, I react to the environment, so my works are like responses matured over certain periods of time. Thus my ideas are a consequence of observation and reflection, so I do not try to define or describe them, nor do I try to look for them in the history of art. My relationship with art is philosophical and existential. I use different materials in my work, depending on the concept and context.
Personally I prefer long-term processes and phenomena to short impressions, as they simply have “more weight” than individual signals and random impulses. Therefore, I usually create a series of works linking different aspects, such as locations, background and history.
