This summer, Arbeit will hold its first ‘One Pound Cinema’, and will take part in ‘The Lab’. The 3-day event will showcase a selection of local and international artists and film makers working in moving image.
The Lab Film Festival is a grass-roots, short film festival celebrating and developing the working practice of emergent film-makers. It operates as a step-up organisation for emerging contemporary film-makers and artists.
One Pound Cinema is aimed at giving equal opportunities for artists to exhibit work in an established gallery space and take part in an innovative and exciting festival in the hottest location in town, Hackney Wick.
The over-arching theme of the festival is Memory and Place, and this should be reflected in submissions. Works should be in any format or related medium such as: Animation, Documentary, Stop-Motion, Video Art, etc. Films may not be longer than 10 minute long. Artists are welcome to submit more than one piece of work. The submission must be accompanied by an artist statement on the work and a general biography (including any online links).
Submission fee is £1, and once selected there will be an additional fee of £1 per minute per film.
The works will be selected by Arbeit’s curatorial team.
The deadline for submissions is the 10th June, 2013 at 5pm
Successful applicants will be informed by the 18th June, 2013.
Event will take place on the 28-30 of June.
