African Amicitiae will show a selection of artworks by artists from the African continent. They were awarded a residency at the Thami Mnyele Foundation in Amsterdam in the past 25 years. In 1992, one of the first artists, Sandra Kriel (SA) was welcomed in the studio. Since then, many artists from Africa and the diaspora have worked here. The Thami Mnyele Foundation is a unique foundation, solely and selflessly run by artists and art lovers, supported by the Amsterdam Fund for the Arts (AFK) and support groups of Amsterdam artists, supporters and art institutions.
