In January 2019, Werkkunst Gallery will host a group exhibition exclusively composed by women. So far confirmed artists from Germany, Korea, Italy, Georgia, USA and Russia.

This show will be much more than just a well-attended vernissage and a beautiful exhibition. The entire day of the vernissage (18.01.19) will count with debates proposed by top professionals in their fields – ladies, who’ll evoke the discussion regarding the role of women in the art world.    

“Woman in Art” group show (from 18.01 to 16.02.2019)  

The first human contact. The first one that cares. The ones who lead and teach. The ones who feed.Women. The feminine universe is more than just hers, they’re queens, guides, warriors, professionals, mothers, sharing their legacy with the world.    

They’re the protagonists of “Women in Art”. This exhibition will bring to Hamburg an amazing group of artists and their vision. Their strong women on canvases represent their dreams, their victories, their struggles, but most of all, their power.   

To mention one of the artists participating here’s a short description of Yun Jeong (Rebecca) Lee’s work:   

“Yunjeong Lee uses her own experience involving sexual abuse and sexual violence on her art works. She loves to express ideas towards women, nature and sexual desires through her paintings with body figures. She expresses the trauma and anxiety through her works. A large majority of work and research are related sexual violence, traumatic incidents and depression. She hopes one day she can help bring awareness with women around the globe who were involved in sexual incidents.”
