Rubatosis is a residency for artists interested in anatomy to explore the human body from many points of view and to meet the people who look inside people regularly. The residency will facilitate twice daily field trips.


Outline
All activities are subject to change depending on expert availability and other uncontrollable variables.


Artist talk: We invite you to give a private artist talk to share your work with the group.


X-Ray:
Demonstration of radiological imaging.


History of Anatomy:
Talk on the history of anatomical sciences at the Division of Clinical and Functional Anatomy Ottawa, University.


Speech Analysis:
Study human sounds at the Sound Patterns Lab, Ottawa University.


MRI:
Learn about molecular imaging at the Biomolecular lab at Ottawa U and the Heart Institute.


EKG:
Visit the Sleep Research Lab at the Royal Ottawa hospital.


Hypnosis:
Hypnotherapy demonstration and talk on history of hypnosis in medicine.


Live Blood Microscopy:
Analysis of your health and microbiome while seeing your blood live.


Ultra Sound:
Demonstration of sonographic imaging.


Krilian Photography and EEG:
Artist talk with krilian photographer with Marie Jean Musiol.


 


Duration of residency
The residency will take place over a week in Gatineau, Quebec, Canada in the autumn of 2017.


Disciplines supported and technical information
All disciplines are supported. No urbex experience or history background necessary.

Accommodation
Residents will be picked up in Ottawa and driven to the Ayatana residency house, where they will have a bed and bedding and will be driven to all activities. Meals will be provided.


Studio/ workspace
Indoor and outdoor workspace is available


Fees
Residency fee is $1250 USD


Expectations towards the artist
Residents are not expected to produce work during the program. Residents are inviteds to give a 20 minute artist talk to the group.No medical or biology expirience necessary.
