Villa Forestata  is a venue of historical value ,that spans  generations of keeping  the agricultural cultivation and food traditions.


Hundreds of hectares of  olive trees, all seasons fruit trees,  vine yards and vegetable gardens  are the natural surroundings  of the Villa , providing first quality ingredients for food preparation. The region has a long history  in agriculture  plus a natural environment untouched by the environmental pollution, providing ingredients for the use of the Villa and Classes.

ELIGIBILITY (subject to early enrolment & formality of the process) :  Open world wide  to individuals , schools,  institutions  interested  for cooking  and  food technics, food sciences, culinary arts, Greek Food, ancient, traditional and modern, based on natural ingredients and practices.


Overview


The Villa team  and the instructor of the class ,Christos , a distinguished Chef, warm personality and food expert ,will be your leader in a 7 days unforgettable  course. In this Master Class, you will experience  a time trip,  showcasing  the food history which in this part of the world exists alive  from the Homeric era, coming to your dish. Cooking & food technics, food sciences, Greek dishes, flavors and tests of the Mediterranean world will be in the main schedule.


Schedule and flexibility


The course takes 7 days, included the arrival and departure day.


Day after day program will be available after the formal enrollment in the course.


If the participants would like to combine the  course with other activities such as holidays, art activities, personal projects, they are welcome upon request  to extend the time of their stay.


Embracing the local Greek Natural Heritage 


Class activities are planned so that a number of  visits will be programmed in specific natural sites  for collection of  useful in cooking plants and herbs.


Class activities connected with sea food .


Class activities connected to research of the Greek natural heritage, Greek food traditions  and Kefalonian heritage of  food products(cheese, sweets etc. )


The activities can be done with guidance from the Instructor, or under self-study, depending on student schedule and interest.


The Sea


Beaches for swimming are  in walk distance from the Villa Forestata


Ancient Sites & Museums:
 Visiting the ancient  sites and reviewing the rich cultural  heritage of the island will be part of the program.


Art Creation:


Artists ALL DISCIPLINES are welcome to attend , create art, document the class, exhibit work.


Self-study :


 Visit the local recourses and observe the traditional farming, cultivation, agricultural process.

 In all applications it is required the follow information in word document :full name of the applicant  , postal address, phone, country , email address, web site(if available), profession, discipline , short statement of the applicant no longer than 200 words , short cv no longer than 200 words, a copy of passport/ID card


In case of group  /collective project( group -school- organization) is required title of the group -school- organization, full name of the  person representing OR leading  the group  , postal address, phone, country , email address, web site(if available) of the group -school- organization  , short  statement no longer than 200 words , short cv of every group member no longer than 200 words, copy of passport/ID card of every group member.


Every  submission   requires an application/entry fee  of euro 20, non refundable.


Each Application toward been considered must be completed including the follow:


-Short submission notice -3 lines- in word document  addressed via email to the address  info@ionionartscenter.gr


– The transfer confirm of the entry fee payment, Euro  20 for every separate application.


– CV/Biography of the participant  or CV/Biography  for each of the group members in case of group project(text  in word document non exceeding the 200 words)


– A short statement (text in word document not exceeding  the 200 words,  short description of the  expectations of the participant).


-        Copy of passport/ID card of every group member
