Works on Paper
With minimal formal education in visual art, Emma Cotter has produced dozens of works on paper over the years. Primarily a choreographer, she found it was a useful way to explore lines and space during times she was unable to work with dancers. Emma is a picture framer by trade and spent eight years of her career handling works on paper in a Manhattan art conservation studio which provided her with a unique insight into techniques, materials and composition. Moving on to be a consultant for high-end framing atelier Eli Wilner & Company, she has handled some of the most valuable artworks ever to come to auction and continues to acquire more knowledge as she works closely with top art historians, advisors and conservators.
