P/I/P     24/07/2017-29/07/2017 11-4pm   Preview 28/07/2017 6-9pm   42 Paragon Street Hull   Frances Hodson Benjamin Madden Hannah McKinlay James Woolley   07852986351     P/I/P an acronym for Permanence, Impermanence and Preservation is the second offering of the Collective by the same name. Four artists based in Lincoln and Sheffield, with vastly differing practices, have combined to create an exhibition concerned with notions of permanent conceptions of ephemeral principles.   Frances Hodson, based in Sheffield, is concerned with the physical depiction of passing time, manifesting itself into intricate durational drawings. Benjamin Madden, based in Sheffield, deconstructs elements of classic painting and luxury packaging, to manipulate the context of the canvas, as both an object and a visual reference framework. Hannah McKinlay, based in Lincoln, uses her experience of severe hearing loss to make work surrounding the notion of the visualisation of spoken word. James Woolley, also of Lincoln, takes his own body- the strength, heat and identity- to imbue his self into highly personal sculpture.   The exhibition will span one week in residency at Hodson Architects in Hull. Each artist will respond directly to the space, the location of Hull and the people who enter the space whilst the artists will be working.    The week’s residency will culminate into an opening event on Friday the 28th July where the inner workings and planning of the residency as well as the work made will be presented. The four artists are keen on complete transparency of the artist’s creative process and wish to demystify the practice.   We would enjoy your company for the private view, please RSVP, kind regards,     P/I/P     v\:* {behavior:url(#default#VML);} o\:* {behavior:url(#default#VML);} w\:* {behavior:url(#default#VML);} .shape {behavior:url(#default#VML);} 96 Normal 0 false false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-priority:99; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:12.0pt; font-family:Calibri; mso-ascii-font-family:Calibri; mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-hansi-font-family:Calibri; mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin;}
