PRUNE IN THE SKY
PRUNE IN THE SKY Toves Galleri - Vesterbro ConTemporary Workout Space, Copenhagen, 2012 Co-curator of the contemporary group exhibition in collaboration with artist and curator Hannah Heilmann Kaj Aune (NO), Fausto Falchi (IT), Sigrun Gudbrandtsdottir (IS), Wieteke Heldens (NL), Ingen Frygt (IS/DK), Mathias Kryger (DK), Kasper Lau Hansen (DK), Peter Møller Rasmussen og Mads Emil Hilmer (DK), Matthew-Robin Nye (CAN), Pind (DK), Davide Savorani (IT), Jens Peder Søndberg (DK), Elizabeth McTernan (US). Prune In The Sky is a collaboration with artist/curator Hannah Heilmann. The exhibition draws a curled up axis between the softness of the prune and the endlessness of the sky, between a) the artist run exhibition space Toves Galleri, named after the Danish author Tove Ditlevsen, and b) the Niels Bohr institute (part of Copenhagen University), named after the physicist Niels Bohr; venerating liberation and imagination in c) science (and) fiction. Prune In The Sky combines different fields of art and science in a science/fiction exhibition where the artworks and research come together in a shared effort to highlight the importance of imagination as a vessel for one or more utopias. In connection to the exhibition we arranged an evening at The Niels Bohr Institute with a lecture performance by Anna Lundh (SE) a sound screening by Leah Beeferman (US), a scientific introduction of Center for Models of Life by Namiko Mitarai (JAP) and a reading of Tove Ditlevsen by actress Tilde Maja Frederiksen (DK).
