The stuff that dreams are made off
The installation took place in a former office-space; working around new meanings of home, home-making in the era of globalization. The work is representative of the neo-nomadic existence, as people, in search of their dreams, gravitate towards certain areas, centres of culture, business etc. Home, from the immobile place of security, transformed into a base build on and around the goals and passions of the individual. The presented environment is a mould of multiple memories, personal and others alike. The rented room filled with a mixture of daily necessities and segments of personal history creates an instant home, one that is not dependent on geographical location. In these situations everyday objects acquire the importance and security previously held by the location of the home, these objects become signifiers of security and personal-roots.
