TELL ME (2008-2009)
For TELL ME, Alava invited twenty two artists to have private conversations with her and answer three questions in an impossible-to-document scenario in the galleries of a Major Art Museum in New York City. The visual interactions of TELL ME's participants were recorded by the security cameras of the museum. After the museum's consideration, the footage of these tapes could not be used for artistic purposes and therefore, the performances and conversations remain as an ephemeral art project alive in the memory of each participant. The names of the participants were revealed only inside the museum. During their participation, artists worked on a book entitled "TELL ME 2.0." The content of this book cannot be made public. The project ended on January 20th, 2009, when Alava personally invited the director of the museum to participate in this imposible-to-document art project.
