C. Grace Chang is a Chinese/Korean American artist based in Sweden. Through a mix of Virtual Reality, performance, and installation, she explores queer diasporas, decoloniality, and the tension between hypervisibility and invisibility imposed on people of color.
She received her B.A. in English Language and Literature (2011) from Smith College, as well as two M.A.s in Literature, Culture & Media (2016) and Visual Culture (2018) from Lund University.
In 2018, she conducted artistic research in Asian diasporas and visual cultures of resistance at Lund University. In 2019, her collaborative work with Australian architect Shuang West, "sister/scapes" was featured in Sine Theta Magazine. Currently, she is working on a VR series for Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, blending highly abstract environments and soundscapes to create loose narratives around safety, stress relief, and liberation through imagination.
