delighted to announce the second edition of Feature Expanded,
a unique training programme designed to support visual artists
who want to make a feature length film intended for a cinematic context.
Feature Expanded takes place over six months, starting with an intensive
residential at HOME in Manchester, 22–27 June 2016. The programme combines
masterclasses, case studies, workshops, screenings, individual tutorials,
pitching training and online follow up, culminating in a second residential
during Lo Schermo dell'Arte Film Festival in Florence, 16–20 November 2016.
The course is directed by Leonardo Bigazzi and Professor Sarah Perks, with
experts from across the film and visual art world including pitching expert
Sibylle Kurz, screenwriter and script consultant Marietta von Hausswolff von
Baumgarten and producers Samm Haillay, Leif Magne Tangen and Jacqui Davies.
The course has a fee of €2.500
Cost includes food and accommodation both in Florence and Manchester.
Number of participants foreseen: 12
There are six bursaries available:
• Two Feature Expanded full bursaries.
• Two bursaries supported by University of Salford.
• One bursary offered by Creative Scotland to Scottish residents.
• One bursary offered by the Netherlands Filmfond to Dutch citizens or residents in the Netherlands
