CICA Museum invites artists to submit works for consideration for “Art Yellow Book #4,” the international exhibition and publication. CICA Museum’s experimental project “Art Yellow Book” provides a unique art space for artists. Art Yellow Book aims to create a space where individual artists can freely express themselves and become media themselves. We explore various media including print, film, online, and physical space to showcase Art and Artists.
[Publication]
The artist may freely organize a page in the book, considering this page a form of exhibition and advertisement of self and/or work. There are no rules or restrictions regarding the layout, design, or content, except that one QR code should appear on the page, containing the artist’s name and information, work descriptions, and/or links to works or websites. The artist may include any text, pictures, and/or links in the QR code.
Individual pages of Art Yellow Book #4 will be printed in 15×15 cm, which will not be bound. The packet will be available in major bookstores in Korea and through the CICA Press website. Art Yellow Book #4 will be also published as an e-book, which will be available via Amazon Kindle.
[Exhibition]
“Art Yellow Book #4” will be held at the CICA Museum from the 13th to the 29th of December, 2019, featuring pages designed by artists. Each page will be printed on 50×50-cm foam board and installed by our curators & assistants.
*Promotional Video
The artist may optionally submit a 2-minute promotional video. We will provide projectors and DVD/DIVX players for the show. Multiple single-channel videos will be screened through a projector.
How to Apply:
– Please send us up to 3 pages (JPG, 1423×1423 pixels), and a direct link to a promotional video (optional). Please email them to “cicamuseum.submission@gmail.com.”
– Include one QR code in the page, containing the artist’s name and information, work descriptions, and/or links to works or websites. The artist may include any text, pictures, and/or links in the QR code. Please do not include the artist’s name or contact information directly on the page, other than a QR code.
– Please write “Submission: Art Yellow Book – Artist’s Name” in the subject line of your email.
*Page Guidelines
– Color mode: CMYK
– Size: 502 x 502 mm (1mm bleeds on all four sides included)
– Resolution: 300 dpi
– When you are done editing, please save as PSD (for photoshop) or AI (for Illustrator). You may need this file once you receive the acceptance email.
*File Submission Guidelines
– Please resize the file to 502 x 502 mm, 72 dpi and save as JPG (1423×1423 pixels). We only accept JPG files and do not accept PSD or AI files for submissions.
Timeline:
August 19, 2019 Close Submissions
August 24 – September 10, 2019 Approvals: Selected artists will be notified by email.
December 13, 2019 Expected publication date
December 13 – 29, 2019 Art Yellow Book #4 Exhibition.

If your work is selected, you will be required to pay the show processing & maintenance fee: $80 (USD) per work.
