We are officially looking for an intern for Exgirlfriend and HER. Preference goes to Erasmus students or other such individuals who will gain class credits/stipends for their work. The position with us is currently 1) very flexible and 2) not salaried*. We can, of course, change the hours or requirements dependant on your needs in an internship.

Both internships will be working directly with Exgirlfriend and HER's founder/Managing Director Elena Feijoo on all tasks relating to the two spaces. Often this entails direct contact with artists and our audiences. Please send your CV or resume to ikuzio@ualberta.caand describe why you would like to have an internship with Exgirlfriend and HER. The internship will begin on July 22nd, 2019.

*No one associated with Exgirlfriend, including the founders, directors, or any managers, currently receive any monetary compensation from the gallery in any way shape or form. At the moment, the gallery operates on 100% volunteer work and is completely financed by our Managing Director with their personal funds, acquired from other work outside of Exgirlfriend. Any money the gallery does make during events goes directly to the artists and their exhibitions. The current limited budget of 4,000 euros a month is donated every month by our managing director and given in order to pay for material costs to produce the shows, rent, marketing materials, documentation, and a small stipend for artists, where we believe it matters the most. None of that budget comes from income from the gallery operations. On top of that monetary donation is 50+ hours of work a week to produce 7 outstanding and professional exhibits a year. If you have any comments/concerns, please feel free to ask us how our budget works and where it comes from/where it goes. We believe in full transparency.
