The Institute of Fine Arts of the Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce (Poland) cordially invites you to the 1st International Summer Academy of Printmaking in Intermedia Space. The invitation is addressed to graphic artists, lecturers of printmaking and intermedia graphics, as well as students of artistic faculties from all over the world. During 10 days we will be looking for a variety of solutions in the field of contemporary graphic practices, from traditional printmaking to the intermedia activities which are base on printing techniques and technologies. The starting point for our considerations will be the Holly Cross Mountains, which are the oldest mountain formations in Europe. Participants will be able to use the printmaking and multimedia studios of the Institute of Fine Arts for all days, participate in programs of visiting the most beautiful places of Kielce, the Holly Cross region, museums, galleries, listening to the theoretical lectures, and self-presentation of artists connecting with the contemporary graphic. The project will end with an exhibition at the XS Gallery of the Institute of Fine Arts and artistic publication. Participation in the project is free. The university provides basic materials for printing (graphic papers, paints). The participant is obliged to cover travel costs, stay and meals. The organizers provide help in finding low-priced accommodation and meals. Artists interested in participating in the International Summer Academy of Printmaking in Intermedia Space are invited to send their CV and artistic portfolio to the following address: m.h.zdanowicz@gmail.com until 5th of July 2019. First edition of the project takes a place between 20th-29th of July 2019, and second between 9th-18th of September 2019. Each artist can participate in one edition.


Kielce are the capital of Holy Cross region, situated between Warsaw and Cracow in the south central of Poland. City is located in the middle of Holy Cross Mountains which are the oldest mountains in Europe and have a specyfic, misterious atmosphere. Kielce with the nearest neighborhood are location of many interesting places, among others historical monuments (among others reinessance Cracow Bishops Palace where is located National Museum with great collection of Polish painting), marvelous views, areas of nature preservation like old quarries where is possible to find the footprints of the history of the world. Stone formations conceal fossils with interesting, varied structures, many times recognizible shapes of prehistorical plants and animals.This unique footprints of the past is possible to find even next to the centre of the city.
