Open Call for Female Artist Residencies

MACTE Art Residencies is an independent female artist-run residency program which provides a space for FEMALE artists working in different mediums to challenge your limits and explore your female energy and sexuality through art.

It welcomes FEMALE artists of all ages, ethnic backgrounds and from a variety of disciplines, at whatever stage of your career you are currently in.  

Within this intensive production time, artists-in-residence will be offered a unique opportunity to exchange ideas, share experiences and create projects made in collaboration and solo, within the walls of the inspiring old city of Barcelona.

Curated by the founder of Macte Art Space, MariSel (http://www.mariselart.com/">www.mariselart.com) the artists will be provided with…

·         An intimate space to work within a small group of carefully selected international artists

·         Unique hands-on workshops

·         Coaching sessions helping to arouse and inspire the source of female creative energy and go deeper into the nature of being a female

·         Networking events and opportunities with local artists, curators and gallery owners

·         Membership in our Creative Professionals networking group

·         The chance to have your work exhibited in the MACTE Art Gallery

Duration of residency:

From 2 weeks up to 2 months in length

Accommodation:

We don’t provide accommodation but will be happy to provide assistance with finding a place to stay through our friendly reservation services  

Studio/ workspace:

Macte Art Space is a studio situated in the heart of Barcelona city, which hosts artists from all over the world. The studio is cozy (only 60m2) and the perfect space for an intimate group of just 4 artists during each residency period. We provide a working space, easels, small tables for holding pallets and brushes. All materials must be provided by artists and we can of course advise you on the best locations for sourcing what you need to create].

Fees:
2 weeks residency fee – 400 EUR, 1 month residency fee – 650 EUR

Start of the Residency Program: 18th March, 2019

Terms of the Residency Program: 18th, March - 31st,March, 2019 – 2 weeks block, 18th, March -  21st, April 2019 -  1 month block, 1st, April – 30th, April – 2 weeks block. Contact us for further dates available.
