Description: Byrdcliffe Artist Residencies offer uninterrupted time and space for creatives in all disciplines with fully and partially funded residencies in monthly, seasonal, and year round duration. Our serene mountain community is 2.5 hours north of NYC in the mountains of Woodstock NY with iterations open to individuals, teams, and couples at all levels. Byrdcliffe’s AiR program is particularly beneficial to those who find it restorative to live in a simple, communal environment in close proximity to natural beauty. Artists are invited to participate in optional activities such as open studio, work-share, artist studio visits, cultural field trips, and communal dinners, or are free to work in solitude during their entire stay.

In our Monthly Program, artists may choose between communal living with a private bedroom and private studio OR apply for one of two private live/work cottages in close proximity. Cottages may accommodate couples depending on their practices, it is the artist’s responsibility to determine suitability of the space for their party’s needs.

Emerging as well as established creatives are encouraged to apply.

Byrdcliffe is committed to a policy of nondiscrimination and equal opportunity for all persons. Women, people of color, LGBTQIA communities, and other historically underrepresented artists are encouraged to apply. Regretfully Byrdcliffe is unable to accommodate young children at this time. Byrdcliffe offers ADA compliant access to its main residency building and some studios.
