DE-CONSTRUKT develops projects with local and international artists that support the cross pollination of ideas and experimentation among culturally diverse artists and audiences. Artists have an opportunity to produce new works individually or collaboratively with a focus on experimentation.

We provide space to create temporary work and encourages the formation of new networks. Our interest is in the process rather than the final outcomes. We serve to support new ideas and new ways of expression to share with the local community at large and abroad.

We invite creatives, thinkers, performers, musicians, artists of all disciplines, filmmakers, curators, writers, and researcher to apply for our March/April 2019 residency opportunities. We provide a space to develop new ideas, create temporal work and encouragement to form new networks. For reference of past projects visit our https://www.de-construkt.com/en/projekts">projects featured on our website.

Artists are required to stay at least 2 weeks. All participants must either make a public event in Red Hook or work with the neighborhood directly through their proposed project. We will work with each resident to organize their event and will publicize it in our newsletter,  https://www.facebook.com/deconstruktdesign/">Facebook,  https://www.instagram.com/de_construkt">Instagram,  https://twitter.com/de_construkt">Twitter, and our https://de-construkt.com/en">website.

Residency fee for two weeks is $675 for a private bedroom with a large studio or $550 for a private bedroom. Price is for (1) person. Residency fee must be paid in full before arrival. Artists are responsible for all expenses including supplies and travel. Artists can request work exchange for partial coverage of residency fee, only if available.

We provide artists with a place to live, and work and the local community of Red Hook. Our 2600 sq. the loft is equipped with a photography darkroom, wet sink, modern kitchen, and skylights with lots of natural light. It also includes accessible on-street parking, access to our large studio for public events and a fully furnished bedroom. We are fully equipped with hand tools, high-speed wifi, and a library of artist books. Residents have access to a projector if needed. Access to the on-site private photography darkroom available 24 hours by request but must provide own chemicals. Large industrial wet sink.

Our residency program started in 2013. We have hosted artists from the United States, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Iceland, Germany, Ireland, Switzerland, England, Israel, Italy, Canada, Ireland, and Palestine. Work included painting, music, video, public interventions, installations, performances, workshops, film screenings.

To apply applicants must pay $20 fee and fill out this https://www.cognitoforms.com/DECONSTRUKT1/DECONSTRUKTprojektsResidencyApplication">application.

Please note two-week residencies make it difficult to organize events due to the short time frame. We encourage to apply for 1 month if you would like to host an event at our studio.
