MAP provides the opportunity to fill in the blank: Make America ____? We at MAP recognize that every human has a vital impulse to create. Our aim is to tap into that impulse to engage disparate groups in art making. Traveling artist residents will strengthen their creative practices as they develop a daily studio habit on the road. One resident Map Maker per region will join MAP facilitators and undertake a project -- of any artistic medium -- contributing to a coast-to-coast creative road trip. The purpose of this project is to rebuild bonds between communities and reactivate a culture of generosity using the medium of art making.
