The residency welcomes artists and researchers from all kinds of practices and we are currently specially interested in contemporary music practices.

The main goal of this open call is to promote the encounter of artists from so far away cultures into one place. A research and experiment on the mix of Brazilian and Arab music - starting in Egypt. Musicians, producers, DJs and sound artists are welcome to join us in this adventure, from online research to visiting music gigs and working directly with music makers. In order to research and explore the similarities and differences between, we encourage the participants to propose ideas and fusions on the most creative ways. A deeper dialogue through beats that may repercute in the form of set lists, concerts, performances or installations. From Cairo to the world.

The Nomad Curator is an art professional, an educator, an institution and a woman - all together. She founded an art collective in Brazil in 2008 and has been working around the world for the past years. Latest projects include art and educational programs with Palestinian and Syrian refugees (Beirut, Beqaa Valley, Damascus and Miniara), curated exhibitions in Venice and Islamabad, an art program in the Brooklyn Children's Museum (New York) and a workshop for Azerbaijani artists at Yarat for Contemporary Art (Baku).

Now based in Cairo, and with the collaboration of other art institutions, we together offer creatives the chance to be part of an international art residency.
