Elsewhere is now accepting applications for 2019 opportunities from creatives working across media, fields, and disciplines. Elsewhere’s evolving collection of past projects, material surplus, unique concepts, and access to local and national communities provide an unparalleled site for creative inquiry. Join us in using the collection of a former thrift store to inspire new futures from old things!

RESIDENCIES

Annually, 35 creatives are selected to collectively live and work within Elsewhere creating new work for the Living Museum. Residencies include collaboration and curatorial guidance with Elsewhere’s team of staff, interns, community members, and peer residents. Residencies are available during 5 sessions, each 2-4 weeks long with up to 7 residents at a time. Additionally, residents receive room & board, material, tool, and equipment access, as well as public engagement and programming opportunities, documentation, promotion, online and in-museum representation of work. The Residency program is partially subsidized with a nominal fee.

In 2019 Elsewhere is offering 10 FELLOWSHIPS which sponsor the month-long residency, provide a travel stipend and $1000 honorarium. 5 Fellowships will support creatives raised or based in the Southern US through the http://www.goelsewhere.org/south/">Southern Constellations Fellowship. 5 http://goelsewhere.org/exchange">Exchange Fellowships support connectivity between Elsewhere and an annually selected Metropol (2019: Philadelphia).

INTERNSHIPS

Annually, 15 internships are offered to emerging leaders who live and work within Elsewhere’s Living Museum. Internships are available during 3 sessions, each approx. 16 weeks long with up to 5 interns at a time. Interns see the inner functions of a dynamic alternative arts organization run by a small team and help support the nonprofit’s organizational, artistic, and community-based projects through exceptional experiences with learning in action.
