Philadelphia Sculptors, in collaboration with The Havre de Grace Maritime Museum, in Havre de Grace, MD, invites artists working in 3D media to put their oars in the water and participate in a creative repurposing of maritime artifacts.

The Havre de Grace Maritime Museum has served as a repository for abandoned, forgotten and neglected wooden oars and paddles. No longer attached to rowboats, canoes or kayaks, they have lost their identity and purpose. Artists now have an opportunity to breathe new life into these artifacts by transforming them into artworks. During July and August, 2018, the resulting creations will be exhibited in various locations in the commercial center of Havre de Grace and environs before being returned to the Museum in September for a final exhibition and auction to benefit the Museum and the artists. Havre de Grace is located on the Upper Chesapeake Bay, about an hour and fifteen minutes from Philadelphia, and about an hour from Baltimore. There is an $18 submission fee, and accepted artists will receive a $200 stipend.
