Feature Expanded takes place over six months, starting with an intensive residential at HOME in Manchester, 20–25 June 2018.The programme combines masterclasses, case studies, workshops, screenings, individual tutorials, pitching training and online follow up, culminating in a second residential duringLo schermo dell'arte Film Festival in Florence, 14–18 November 2018.
The programme is directed by Leonardo Bigazzi and Sarah Perks, with experts from across the film and visual art world including pitching expertSibylle Kurz, screenwriter and script consultant Marietta von Hausswolff von Baumgarten and producers Jacqui Davies, Samm Haillay and Yorgos Tsourgiannis.
Feature Expanded is supported by the Creative Europe – MEDIA programme.
Who can apply? Feature Expanded is open to visual artists who are developing their first feature film project intended for theatrical distribution.

Participation fees & Bursaries: The course fee is €2,500 full price and includes food and accommodation both in Florence and Manchester. Travel costs are not included. There are four bursaries available: •2 Feature Expanded full bursaries that cover the course fee and travel to both location •1 Feature Expanded bursary that cover the course fee •1 bursary offered by the Netherlands Filmfonds to Dutch citizens or residents in the Netherlands (covering 75% of the fee)
