Digital preservation is defined as a method of keeping digital material alive. This project aims to look at the notion of active memory making as an essential function of the human perceptual apparatus in relation to the wider social outcome it implies. In what way is memory actively constructed and altered? We are looking for works that deal with the themes of narrative, memory construction and the notion of time in one way or another. The selected artists will be asked to provide further information which could benefit the presentation events (interview questions related to the presented work etc.). The screenings will take place in the University of Oslo, Vilnius Academy of Arts, Kamloops and Ideas Block LT starting from March 2018.

The project consists of us curating the received applications according to thematic references. Starting from the 12th until the 28th of February we will be working on this. During this time the selected artists will be asked to answer further questions in order for us to better contextualize their works. The screenings will consist of up to 1,5-2 hours of videos accompanied by a discussion between the curator and the audience. Information about the artists will also be provided in the event and in printed handouts. If possible, artists are encouraged to engage in live video chat sessions during the screenings. The timing will be shared in advance. Continuing the project we will work on an online publication which will be also be shared on social media in order for the works to reach a wider audience.
