Heima Art Residency is currently accepting applications for residencies of 3 months. Located in Seyðisfjörður - East Iceland, a thriving port that is home to just 700 people and yet manages to support an art school, cinema, theatre, technical museum, restaurants/bars, two artist residencies and the Dieter Roth Academy.

Heima Art Residency is an independent non-profit organisation founded in 2013. It was initiated to provide a space where emerging artists across a variety of disciplines can live and work in close proximity, sharing energies and ideas. The space is a 350 square meters living and studio space.

Heima encourage applications from a wide range of artists of different cultural and geographic backgrounds. They are open for applications for all phases - from initial research to finishing works. Their intention is to create and facilitate temporary collectives for emerging artists to work and live together. Heima offer residencies of 90 days accomodating 6 artists at a time.

The program is self-organised and as a young, non-profit organisation unfortunately Heima is currently unable to provide financial assistance for the artists in residence. The residency fee is 250.000 ISK (2050 Euro) and it covers accommodation and studio space(s). The residency fee is to be paid in advance and is non-refundable. Residents must provide for their own food, travel, and miscellaneous expenses.

Residents will be selected based on the quality of their work, commitment to their practice and ability to interact positively with the community at large. The application can be found here http://bit.ly/2zUNPi6 and the deadline is 4th February 2018. The residency periods for 2018 are:

April 2nd 2018 - June 30th 2018
August 1st 2018 - October 29th 2018
