PICTURE BERLIN is a hybrid program founded in 2009 by artists for artists. The strategy of the program is the lack of separation between studio practice, critiques, and shared meals. Every experience informs and builds on the next.

PICTURE BERLIN is a network designed and built around each session’s incoming residents. Heading into its 9th year, PICTURE BERLIN offers two residency sessions designed for emerging artists working in contemporary art and photography. A combination of a rigorous studio practice combined with integration into the Berlin art scene is the basis for the Summer Session (12 July - 26 August).The dynamic programming offers lectures by Berlin based artists, one-on-one discussions with over 10 international artists and curators, multiple exhibitions, group meals, in-progress work reviews, studio visits, a curatorial marathon, and artist walks.
