OPEN CALL PER UN PROGRAMMA DI RESIDENZA PRESSO KOLOR BNB, LECCE
La residenza Kolor attraverso il programma Industrial Therapy offre ad uno scultore nazionale o internazionale la possibilità di lavorare nello spazio di passaggio tra la realtà cittadina e la zona industriale di Lecce, di indagarne il possibile cambiamento da cesura in porta di accesso e connessione esprimendosi artisticamente con una installazione scultorea su questo tema.
Lo scultore lavorerà con scarti di produzione e materiale ferroso forniti dall’azienda “La Ferrosa”, limitrofa a questo spazio di transizione, progettando e realizzando una istallazione che contempli e rielabori i concetti opposti di cesura e passaggio.
LA RESIDENZA
La residenza si svolgerà a Lecce ed avrà durata complessiva di 7 giorni dal 22/10/2017 al 29/10/2017 durante i quali l’artista per la realizzazione dell’installazione avrà a disposizione:
> Alloggio e colazione presso Kolor
> Diaria complessiva dell’ammontare di 200,00 euro;
> Trasporto da stazione ferroviaria di Lecce/aereoporto di Brindisi al bnb;
> Bicicletta per spostamenti in città;
> Materiale necessario alla realizzazione dell’opera;
> Uno spazio-studio;
> Un pacchetto di benvenuto con informazioni sul territorio.
Sono escluse:
• le spese di viaggio fino a Lecce;
• visti;
• assicurazione di viaggio;
• spese di spedizione;
• altre spese personali.
In programma è prevista una giornata introduttiva di visita alla zona industriale insieme ai curatori del progetto Idustrial Therapy ed al collettivo LO.FT ed una serata conclusiva di presentazione dell’opera realizzata.
Attrezzi di base saranno a disposizione, ma l’artista dovrà avere con sè i propri strumenti di lavoro. Richieste specifiche vanno indirizzate a info@industrialtherapy.it e saranno discusse singolarmente prima dell’assegnazione, in modo che l’attrezzatura ed i materiali siano disponibili dall’inizio della residenza.
AMBITO DI INTERVENTO
La zona industriale di Lecce nasce nel 1960 in un area lontana dalla città abitata. Con l’evoluzione del tessuto urbano e l’implementazione delle connessioni viarie, oggi la città e la zona industriale si sono spazialmente connesse presentando però una intangibile cesura tra le due realtà.
Questa cesura è dovuta al ruolo di spazio di attraversamento, di lavoratori o persone che raggiungono i paesi limitrofi, in cui la zona industriale è stata relegata. Questo porta ad una naturale sensazione di spaesamento nel momento in cui si accede dalla città alla zona, notando un brusco passaggio da quello che è un tessuto urbano residenziale che pochi metri dopo si trasforma in uno spazio desolato e privo di elementi che permettano l’orientamento e la fruizione della zona.
Oggi la zona industriale è ormai spazialmente connessa alla città e vicino ad un quartiere, quello di Borgo Pace, che vede crescere al suo interno realtà già rinomate come i cantieri teatrali Koreja e nuove realtà come il parco di Belloluogo, lo skate park e gli spazi di cooworking Kiio Lab che animano e rendono sempre più interessante questa parte di città.
La divide da queste nuove realtà solo un interruzione di marciapiede di un paio di metri.
Il punto di intervento per la seconda edizione di Industrial Therapy è stato individuato nell’area di ingresso alla zona industriale.
I materiali per la realizzazione dell’opera verranno scelti e selezionati dall’artista direttamente nell’azienda “La Ferrosa” il primo giorno di lavoro.

SCADENZA CANDIDATURE
Le proposte di partecipazione per la residenza saranno accettate entro la mezzanotte del giorno 24/09/2017.
MODALITA’ DI CANDIDATURA
La residenza è aperta ad uno scultore nazionale ed internazionale. Gli artisti che desiderano dovranno candidarsi attraverso l’application form allegando:
>un abstract di max 500 parole spiegando l’idea di progetto che vorrebbero realizzare riguardo il tema della connessione/cesura.
>una o più immagini per un massimo di 3 files JPEG includendo ciò che si ritiene utile alla comprensione del progetto come bozzetti, fotoricostruzioni, disegni etc;
>CV o porTfolio e link al sito web/canale dei propri lavori.
Le lingue accettate per la presentazione della candidatura sono Italiano ed Inglese.
Notifica dell’accettazione sarà inviata entro il 30/09/2017.
Le proposte saranno selezionate dai curatori del programma Industrial Therapy Caterina Quarta e Francesco Buonerba(Wonderlust#rome) in base all’affinità del lavoro e della ricerca dell’artista con il tema del programma Industrial Therapy allo scopo di sostenere lo sviluppo di nuove pratiche nell’arte contemporanea considerando la qualità del progetto presentato e la realizzabilità di esso all’interno della residenza.
PROPRIETA’ E COPYRIGHT
L’artista mantiene totale proprietà intellettuale sul lavoro prodotto durante la residenza.
Totale o parziale riproduzione di esso a fini divulgativi sarà a discrezione dei curatori di Industrial Therapy.
Qualsiasi richiesta di riproduzione di terzi dell’opera deve essere pertanto accordata preventivamente con i curatori scrivendo alla mail ufficiale del progetto info@industrailtherapy.it

OPEN CALL FOR RESIDENCE PROGRAM AT KOLOR BNB, LECCE
Kolor B&b offers, through the AiR program Industrial Therapy, to an
italian or foreign artist the opportunity to work in the space between the city and the industrial area of Lecce, to investigate the possible change from break to connection realizing ansculpture artwork on this theme.
The sculptor will work with scraps of production and ferrous materials
provided by the Ferrosa Company, sited close to this transition space, designing and realizing an installation that contemplates and
re-elaborate the opposite concepts of separation and passage.
THE RESIDENCY
The residency, in Lecce, in its entirety will last 7 days, from 22/10/2016 to 29/10/2016 during which Kolor will offer:
> Accomodation in one of Kolor’s rooms
> Breakfast;
> Per diem allowance for lunch and dinner for a complex amount of200,00 euro;
> Transportation between Kolor and Lecce train station or Brindisi airport in the days of arrival and departure;
> A bike for local transportation;
> A studio;
> Materials needed for realizing the artwork;
> A welcome package with maps, public transport guides, general info and emergency numbers;
Excluded are :
- travel expenses to Lecce;
- visas;
- health insurance;
- shipping fees;
- other personal expenses;
One day of the residency is reserved to introduction and exploration of the socio-cultural context of the region. The residency will end with a public presentation of the artwork at the presence of selected guests.
Basic tools will be provided but the selected artist is expected to bring his own work instruments.For special requests please contact info@industrialtherapy.com before the selection to allow the necessary time to make tools and materials available from the start of the residency period.
WORK AREA
The industrial area of Lecce was born
In 1960 in an area far from
the City. With the evolution of the urban fabric and implementation of the road connections,
today the city and industrial area are physically connected but they present an intangible and
strong fracture between two really different realities.
This separation is due to the role which the
Industrial zone has been relegated, just a passing through space, for commuters and
travelers to neighboring towns. This abrupt passage from the urban residential fabric to a
desolate space
without elements that allow the fruition of the area leads to a natural feeling of disorientation
Today the industrial zone is next to the city
And near a neighborhood, Borgo Pace, that is growing with its already renowned cultural and
social activities like the Cantieri koreia, new spaces like Belloluogo Park, the skate park and
the co-working spaces of Kiio Lab who animate this part of town, getting it more and more
interesting
The Zone is separated from these energetic new atmosphere just by a sidewalk interruption
of a couple of meters.
The intervention point for the second edition of Industrial Therapy has been identified in the entrance area of the industrial Zone.
Materials for realization of the work will be chosen and selected by the artist directly on the Ferrosa company site on the first day of residency.

APPLICATION GUIDELINES
The AiR program is open to sculptor artists with no country limitations. Applicants will have to compile the application form attaching:
>One abstract in PDF format (max
500 words) detailing the proposal
with times and phases of realization;
>up to 3 Jpeg files useful to the
visualization of the proposal :
sketches, drawings, mock ups etc;
>a detailed list of the necessary
materials and an approximate cost
of the products;
>CV in PDF format portfolio or link
to own website;
Accepted languages for the proposal
are Italian and English.
Notifications about the selected artist will be sent within 25/09/2016.
Proposals will be selected by curators of the Industrial Therapy program Caterina Quarta and Francesco Buonerba(Wonderlust # rome) based on the affinity of the work and the artist research with the theme of the Industrial Therapy program in order to support development off new practices in contemporary art considering the quality off the presented project and the feasibility of it during the residency.

Total or partial reproduction of it for informative and promotional purposese will be at discretion of the Industrial Therapy curators.
