Transaktionen: Über den Wert künstlerischer Arbeit at Haus am Lützowplatz, Berlin.

Haus am Lützowplatz is a major cultural centre and contemporary art gallery centrally located in Berlin. The Gallery has organized a group show entitled Transaktionen - Über den Wert künstlerischer Arbeit / Transactions – About the value of artistic labour. The exhibition is curated by Dr. Marc Wellmann and deals with the economic structure of the art world and shows different works that reflect or incorporate the exchange between symbolic and material values.

The provisional list of artists to be included in the exhibition comprises: Cercle d’Art des Travailleurs de Plantation Congolaise (CATPC), Ali Fitzgerald, Moritz Frei, Thorsten Goldberg, Christian Jankowski, Ligthart Enterprises, Michael Sailstrofer, Joshua Schwebel, and Santiago Sierra.

Artist Joshua Schwebel is one of the participants in this group show. As his contribution to the Exhibition, he is offering his allocated space in the gallery for rent to another artist.

This call invites submissions from artists interested in benefitting from this opportunity to have their work showcased in a professional and highly-regarded context. After a competitive review of applicants, one artist or one collaborative project will be selected to exhibit their work.

The Exhibition will run from May 31 until August 20, 2017. The space available for rent is located on the main floor of the Gallery and is marked with an "X" on the copy of the floor plan attached as Schedule "A" hereto.

The rental agreement will permit display of the work of one artist, or one collaborative project, which may be in any medium. Rent for the space is €1200 (plus applicable taxes) for the term of the Exhibition. The successful applicant will also pay a security deposit of €300, which will be returned after the Exhibition is completed.
The successful applicant will attend the Exhibition’s opening reception and will be included in any promotional materials, press releases and exhibition catalogue in conformity with the Gallery’s usual practices.
