PICTURE BERLIN is a hybrid program founded in 2009 by artists for artists. Entering its 8th year, PICTURE BERLIN offers two residency sessions designed for emerging artists working in contemporary art and photography. PICTURE BERLIN is a network designed and built around each session’s artists. The strategy of the program is the lack of separation between studio practice, critiques, and shared meals. Every experience informs and builds on the next.
The Fall Session is a condensed, intensive 10-day program focused on professional development and networking with the international PICTURE BERLIN community at large by way of portfolio reviews with Berlin based international curators, a coaching session, artist studio visits, tours of commercial and non-commercial gallery spaces throughout the city in addition to exposure to the Berlin art scene from the back door by arts professionals working and living in Berlin.
