FOUNDED BY http://www.gudrunfilipska.com/about/" target="_blank">GUDRUN FILIPSKA IN 2017, THE ARTS TERRITORY EXCHANGE IS A CORRESPONDENCE PROGRAM WHICH PAIRS UP ARTISTS ACROSS THE WORLD AND OPENS UP A SPACE WITHIN WHICH TO GENERATE NEW IDEAS AROUND OUR PERSONAL TERRITORIES AND TOPOGRAPHIES, THROUGH A SIMPLE PEN-PAL STYLE EXCHANGE.

Taking place between artists and writers in vastly differing topographical locations ATE facilitates an exchange of materials which explore ideas of territory, locality and place. Ideas find new territories to inhabit through the postal system, the domestic spaces they arrive in, and in turn generate and take on new meaning through the collaborative process.

These exchanges may generate archives of collaborative work which can realise them selves as exhibitions, publications, talks, life long collaborations or ephemeral experiments.

We are interested to hear from artists, writers or anyone who considers ideas of place, local (and domestic) ecology, cartography, environment, botany or other natural taxonomies to be inherent to their practice. We currently have artists participating in the exchange in locations as diverse as Suffolk UK, Finland, the Mojave desert and Novia Scotia. We have a particular interest in making connections between those in remote or wilderness locations although anyone is welcome to apply.
