Founded in 1857 the Society of Women Artists begun as a revolutionary arts society providing female artists with the oppotrunities to show their work to the public and receive an arts education which they were otherwise denied. 

The society has come a long way since it's beginnings and is still as relevants as ever in contemporary art societies. 

This will be the 156th annual exhibition to be held at the Mall Galleries in the Summer of 2017
