Site Artists are invited to spend 10 days undertaking a research-intensive residency, which offers time and space to creatively explore how the people of Milton Keynes live, work and play.

As Groundwork is predicated on research and development, Site Artists have the freedom to follow their own interests, without the pressure of delivering a final product, and, instead, are encouraged to gather thoughts and ideas for developing a potential future project.

The role of Site Artist is open to national and international artists with strong experience of working in site-specific or site-sensitive performance practice, and to those who have a keen interest in the relationship of heritage, site and urban contexts.

There are two positions available, and one artist shall be present for each period. The periods of Groundwork 2017 at Milton Keynes Arts Centre are between:

Friday 5th May - Saturday 13th May inclusive

and/or

Friday 19th May - Saturday 20th May inclusive

This post is subject to funding, but if successful, each appointed Site Artist will receive remuneration at a rate of £2050 for the residency period, with additional travel, accommodation and per diems to be provided.

Deadline is 27th January 2017: 17.00 GMT
