Terra Vivente is a small artist-run residency that encourages community engagement and interaction among artists in a hill town in southern Italy. The residency is self-directed; artists come and spend time exploring the town, its historic centre where the studio is based, and the many nearby villages and hills. There is something to suit many tastes--history, culture, gastronomy, nature. There are many festivals in the region over the summer, including Vinalia, a lively wine festival that takes place in Guardia Sanframondi. At the end of the residency, an exhibition is held that is well publicized and attended. This is authentic Italy, off the tourist-track. Artists can choose to participate in day trips to Naples or picnics in the hills. August 7-28. Please download application form from website under How to Apply. Contact: hwadsley@yahoo.com
