Duration: 3 weeks in Fall 2016, extendable
Eligibility: Emerging or mid-career artists, minimum age 25

This unique residency includes 3 weeks of instruction by a prominent master art restorer in several diverse techniques using mediums and supports traditionally used in pre-Columbian and baroque art. Artists work in our partnered studio at one of Puebla’s most important art museums. Artists apply techniques of gold and silver leaf, learn the use of diverse stuccos and traditional primers (cactus, lime, rabbit glue, gelatin) and use on different supports (paper, wood, clay), and experiment with different finishes w/natural pigment patinas and egg tempera paint.
