The second edition of CROSS International Performance Award aims to promote research and artistic expression related to the combination of different styles and genres, considering multi-language practices and the mix of techniques and codes pertaining to the various performing arts.


 


CROSS is looking for projects that put dialogue he language of the body and of the stage with musical composition, without restrictions or constraints, kind, class or practice.


 


PARTICIPATION


The call is open to individual artists, professionals, companies and collectives able to present a new project to be developed during the residency, and that includes the most diverse expressive practices.


 


For the three selected projects, the phase of residency is held in Verbania from 2nd to 8th of July 2016. During this period the organization will cover the costs of room and board and it will be made available technical staff of the Festival Villaggio d'Artista for assistance to the production of the work. There will be a fee of € 200.00 for each selected project.

The resulting performances will be presented to the public and the Jury in the areas of the residency of each hosted company, in between Verbania and Cannobio, on the 8th of July 2016, in the occasion of the Festival 'Villaggio d'artista'.

At the end of the presentation will be proclaimed the winner of the first edition of CROSS International Performance Award to be awarded of a prize of € 4,000.00.

The winning project will also be presented within the programming of 'Lavanderia a Vapore' in Collegno, in collaboration with the 'Circuito Piemonte dal Vivo' in the autumn 2016.

The panel of experts who will evaluate the finalists and decide the winner of the second edition of Cross Award will be composed by Italo Rota (architetct, designer and advisory leader of NABA) and Margherita Palli (set designer and advisory leader of NABA set design), Renata Rapetti (artistic director Teatro Coccia of Novara and Il Maggiore of Verbania), Olga Strada (director of Italian Cultural Institute in Moscow) Daniele Cavalli and Tommaso Sacchi (curator andprofessor).
