Picture That has purchased artwork for all areas in the YNHH Park Avenue Medical Center with the exception of the following two locations:

1. BREAST CARE CENTER

Includes waiting room, check in/out area, and reception

DESIRED MEDIA
Paintings, collage, watercolors, drawings, mixed media, prints, tapestries (fiber art) and quilts

DESIRED THEMES

The artwork purchased for the Breast Care Center will raise awareness for breast care. Symbols traditionally known to promote breast care consciousness such as ribbons, the color pink, and figures of women (inclusive of diverse cultures and generations) are encouraged. We would also like the Breast Care Center artwork to connect with the overarching themes of the facility mentioned in the Desired Bridge Corridor Themes section.

2. BRIDGE CORRIDOR

The Bridge connects the 525-car garage of the facility to the 3rd level with a glass-walled enclosure. Upon entering the building through double doors, the glass wall on the right transitions to sheet rock - this is the area which is earmarked for artwork. This sheetrock wall is 60 feet long with light sconces dividing every 15 feet, leaving four separate 14' spaces for 4 individual pieces (http://media.wix.com/ugd/393152_a5c45cb4418c486e8d18d61504dc03f2.pdf">Elevation http://www.picturethatart.com/#!the-bridge-corridor-video/c1xln">Video)Please review thehttp://media.wix.com/ugd/393152_0243735d9ccf464f91af1a08bb9da0b3.pdf">color palette of the facility's accent walls, which may also be taken into consideration. Harlequin Blue, P9, will be the paint finish of the artwork wall.

DESIRED THEMES

The artwork purchased for the Bridge Corridor will follow one of two overarching themes for the facility or combine both. The first theme emphasizes feelings of Zen and renewal, which extends from the Healing Garden on the first level of the facility. Objects in the garden include: aquatic plants, birch trees, native plants and rocks, reflective pools, tall grasses, inspirational words, and waterfalls. Artists are encouraged to incorporate these objects and ideas into their designs.

The second theme is local, coming from the four locations the facility boarders in Connecticut: Bridgeport, Fairfield, Easton, and Trumbull. Artwork using this theme will incorporate signature landmarks from each of the four locations into its design. Examples of landmarks include: the city skyline of Bridgeport, reservoirs in Easton, and parks, rivers, and lakes in Trumbull and Fairfield. Please review http://media.wix.com/ugd/393152_be3954984e024c29afe64e142f6e773c.pdf">themes for the non-commissioned artwork of the facility for additional ideas.

The four pieces of artwork in the Bridge Corridor will ideally have linking concepts and/or styles.
