ICA Miami’s Open Call program is an initiative that highlights the production of new experimental works of art, and opens the museum’s walls and collection to new artists. Each season the museum highlights a different medium, offering an opportunity for artists at any stage of their career to present a work at the museum.
10 Finalists
ICA Miami will announce 10 finalists in early July, and the works will be exhibited at the museum from Friday August 21 – Sunday, September 13, 2015.
One finalist work will be acquired for the museums permanent collection.
Technical Parameters
Technical Parameters – The museum will provide each finalist a projector, and a Mac mini (MEMORY 4 gigs) connected to the Internet.. All equipment that does not appear on this list will be provided by the artist and is subject to curatorial review. It is strongly recommended that interactive works be recorded as a video presentation in Hi def .mov or MP4.
Application Process
All artists commit to creating new work, having been created in the last 2 years, for the purpose of OPEN CALL. Submissions will be reviewed by a committee of jurors including artists, curators, and museum professionals.
Applications will only be accepted though submittable.com, with a limit of one submission per applicant. Stills (minimum 300 dpi, hi - res) and a URL are required.
Each submission must be accompanied by:
1. A complete application
2. Artists c.v. and bio
3. A description of the work
4. Stills
5. Processing fee
Entry costs: $10 per entry submitted by May 31st
$25 per entry submitted by July 5th.
Due to the large volume of entries we are capping submissions this year at 250 entries.
