Artists and makers from all disciplines are invited to submit work to FOLDED — the next concept exhibition at CelerySpace, Berkeley. FOLDED will explore the multi-functional and transformative outcomes of a simple fold. From the traditions of origami to innovations in packaging, furniture design, textiles, fashion, light and sound… a fold can take a two-dimensional plane into a multi-dimensional object and experience. CelerySpace will consider works from any medium that utilizes the experience of a fold in both concept and execution.

CelerySpace is a new Berkeley-based gallery and workshop venue established to encourage innovative design and artistic expression. Providing a platform for artists and designers across a wide spectrum of media – from graphic, industrial, and product design, to fine art, fashion, and food – the space aims to showcase methods and materials that break traditional molds and seek new ways of approaching the world around us. Run by artists and designers, CelerySpace is devoted to bringing creative dialogue and discourse to the Bay Area community through the lens of sustainability and environmental preservation. CelerySpace presents rotating exhibitions, workshops, and events, and offers a collection of unique and compelling works through its gallery shop.

FOLDED is an ongoing show with a duration of 3 months, it will continue to evolve and change over time.
